Making Changes

In less than 30 days things are going to change for us. Some of the changes we're looking forward to are for me being able to see my feet again and Eric says that he'll be glad not to hear me complain about how big and uncomfortable I am. But I think the biggest change will come for William as he will no longer be the only child.

We've been trying to get William ready for this new addition. One of the things we've been working on is getting William to sleep in his own bed. So far we've mastered getting him to sleep without us being in the room. Some of you know this is a HUGE accomplishment since I have been the only one who can put him to bed since he was six months old. We have graduated from laying down with him, to holding his feet, to sitting in the hallway and now to just putting him down and walking out of the room! But even bigger is that Eric can do the same thing! William use to scream every time Eric tried to put him to bed but now it doesn't matter who does. We're still working on getting him to sleep through the whole night but at least now we can take turns who takes him back to his room at 2:30 AM.

Our other goal that we're working on potty training William. Some days he's all about using the big toilet and other times he just doesn't care. My hope of not having to change two sets of diapers might not be achieved but it shouldn't last too long- I hope.

We still have other changes to make like moving the crib out of William's room and figuring out where to put it in our room, digging up old newborn clothes, and dusting off the old car seat. But we are making progress and are getting excited about meeting this new little one.

Whew! That's a lot to get ready for a brand new baby. I hope William is more than cooperative to make it all work!

What if it's a girl and you have no girl baby clothes? Then people will really be asking what "it" is. Ady's got a bunch of hand me downs, but they are either to big in the waist or floods. Maybe we can go shopping together!
