We had a full month in October. Here's some of the other things we did:
Using the packaging from a few boxes, I outlined each of the boys and had them color themselves. The older two had fun but Samuel made his mark and he was done. It was a fun way to reuse what was around.
On the 30th William participated in the Primary Program at church. He did his one line loud and clear. When asked "what is your favorite story about Jesus? he replied "when he blesses the little children." He sang his heart out, and looked so sharp in his jacket and tie! Eric stayed home with the younger two since they had colds but we gave him a full report once we got home.
For Halloween this year the boys did a Star Wars theme. William was Jango Fett, Matthew Darth Vader and Samuel Yoda. The Yoda costume serves us well, each boy getting to wear it. The Vader one is a hand me down from Pete and Sarah (Thank You) and Jango is from a yard sale. William didn't want to wear the mask, so people had to ask who he was. They used their Easter baskets for pumpkins, and we got the mini light sabers from the Build a Bear store! They even have sound effects.
Other things we've been doing:
-Eric is in school and working. He got a job as a computer lab assistant in his department which has been nice for all of us. He's home everyday by 3pm when he does homework and grades assignments on the computer. He only works about 10 hours a week but the job is flexible and not too demanding which he likes.
- Matthew is doing well in speech therapy. He gets tutored once a week and is a great student. Recently he sat and listened/participated for 40 minutes straight before needing to get up! He is slowly making progress and using more words. We have some hearing tests scheduled to make sure there's no hearing loss.
-I have been staying busy with all the boys' activities. I've recently discovered Pinterest which has prompted me to dig out my craft box and make things with the boys.
-William is as active as ever. He loves learning at preschool though has missed some due to colds. We have a word wall that he's learning sight words and doing very well. He also won a gold fish at the Harvest Festival at church on the 22nd and is diligently feeding it to keep it alive.
-Samuel is Samuel. He's still not sleeping through the night sometimes keeping us up for 2 hours at a time. He is very attentive and listens to directions well if everyone else is doing them. For example we were doing some exercises and Samuel was doing them with us, sometimes better than the older two! He wants to be involved in everything his brothers are doing. Samuel also started nursery when he turned 18 months and joined Matthew. They enjoy being together.

Wow! Busy, busy, busy. I didn't realize that Samuel was a poor sleeper. Boo! Hope he remedies that soon.
Btw, is your mom in Hawaii right now?
