We tend to craft in spurts. Depends on the holiday, my mood, how much mess I want to clean up etc. But this month we've done lots and had even more fun. Our first one was making paper plate drums for Chinese New Year. The boys colored the plates while I fought to get the yarn threaded through the bells.
The end result was super cute and the boys are still playing with them.
I gave the boys a snack one day and came out to see this. They said the animals were hungry. Hope the animals got their fill cause there weren't any apples left after I took this picture. (Oh and I cut up a whole apple and it was gone in less than 5 minutes)
This month we've been learning about the moon. For craft time we made the moon in different phases, covered it in foil and hung stars from them. I thought the boys would enjoy working with foil but it ended up frustrating them. They didn't like wrapping it and trying to keep things tight. Note to self. But we rallied and got the stars cut out and tied up. They now hang in the living room and the boys like to point to theirs and call out the phase.
I had a rough morning a few weeks ago and didn't want to do anything. So I came up with a coloring party for the boys. We took down the crayons and books and I made popcorn and they colored their hearts out. For over an hour! They loved it! "Mom this was the best activity ever!" -William. Even bad days can be fun days.
Our latest craft was making Valentines. The boys made these and they turned out super cute.
