Our boys are usually up by 6 or 630 in the morning. Most of the time William is the first one up and whether it's him opening his drawers to get dressed, or playing "quietly" on the floor, or sometimes turning on the light so he can see what he's doing, he wakes the other two up.
Some mornings they'll play in their room, after closing the door, and not wake us until 7 (doesn't happen too often, they'll come see us 5 mins after they're all up). When they do decide that they've had enough of their room they file into our room, oldest to youngest and this "conversation" is what happens.
Boys walking in and coming to moms side of the bed.
William whispering: Mom can we please go downstairs and watch TV?
Me in half awake no opening eyes state: mumble yes
William moves toward door.
Matthew come up and pats my arm
Matthew says in inside voice: TV on please?
Me annoyed that he didn't hear my response to William: Yes
Matthew moves away saying TV TV TV.
Samuel standing at my legs
Samuel says as loud as he can: TV? TV? TV?
Me now fully awake: Yes! Go watch TV!!
I should also state that when they get up early and don't play in their room the same conversation happens even when I say No. The boys just grumble back to their room and try again in 15 minutes.
It is cute that each boy asks permission but it's also very annoying. Even if William tells his brothers that they can watch TV Matthew and Samuel still have to ask me themselves.
I should also say that normally I don't like the boys watching too much TV. But at 6am if it allows me to sleep longer I don't care if they're killing off brain cells. Let me sleep!
