I feel so grownup!
It finally happened!! William lost his first tooth!! This tooth has been loose for like 5 months. Back in March the dentist said it would be out soon. I took that to mean days not months. We kept pestering William to keep wiggling his tooth. We tried to pull it out. But William kept saying it's not ready and that it was hurting. One morning, just after finishing breakfast, William came up to me and said "look Mom!" His tooth was bloody and just sitting there. I handed him a tissue and told him to pull. One little tug later and he was holding his tooth! Wow. Amazing how one missing tooth on a 5 year old can make them seem 10 years older. And that's a bad thing! :) Now William is walking around smiling more, saying he "feel so grown up".
**Update**
William had a visit from the Tooth Fairy. He got a shiny new quarter. He was so pleased! He kept showing everyone what he got. Nai Nai mentioned that the Tooth Fairy was kinda cheap, to which William responded, "well it was a small tooth and wasn't as white as it could have been. But that's ok at least she left me something." We had told William to brush well so that his tooth would be worth more and that since it was a small tooth he might not get much. He wasn't upset by the amount that was left. He told me later "it's ok I didn't get lots. I bet she'll give me a hundred thousand dollars when my silver teeth (crowns) fall out!"
