Disneyland Part 1

Something special happened recently. We went to Disneyland!! My mom paid for everyone to go down and we had a great time with my family. We knew about the trip for nearly two months but didn't tell the boys until a few days before we left. We hate being asked "is it time to go yet?" I tried to think of some fun ways to tell the boys where we were going. They only knew we were going somewhere on an airplane. Finally I told them, "You want to know where we're doing? Yes! We're going to Disneyland!! Oh ok cool." And back to playing they went!! It was funny. They didn't react at all. Matthew and Samuel are still too young to fully understand what Disneyland is, but William didn't seem too excited either! As we started packing he got more into it but still didn't know what was at Disneyland. We prepped the boys for what they would see and do but watching youtube videos. They started to grasp what we would be doing there and each had a ride that they wanted to go on. Finally the time came and we were off!

This was the first time Samuel got his own paid seat. He loved not having to sit on my lap and enjoyed looking all around him. The flight to Seattle was on a smaller plane so I sat with Samuel, the other two boys sat across from me and Eric sat in front of the boys. William was a big helper, ordering drinks for himself and his brother. On the way down I told them they had to pick a juice for their drink. The way back I didn't specify and William ordered soda for both of them!!

Some of the things I wanted to do was to get a Mickey Mouse balloon and Mickey ice cream. To me they are just iconic and make the whole experience seem more real. Of course I had to share my ice cream.

While waiting for the Pixar Parade to start Matthew fell asleep, like this! In all fairness this was the end of the first day and none of the boys had a nap. He slept that way for about 15 minutes before we woke him up for the parade.
I won't be posting all the pics I took while on our three day trip. We did lots, walked lots, and made some lasting memories.

Just some highlights and other random things:
- We didn't want to bother with our double stroller so the boys walked everyday. Samuel was such a trooper! The first day we walked from 8 am til 3 pm and he only needed to be carried for 30 mins!! The other two days we came back earlier to give everyone a break but they all did so well!
- We stayed at the Disneyland Hotel which meant we got early admission to each of the parks an hour before the main gates opened. This allowed us time to travel to the parks and get in line to some of the more popular rides before it got crowded.
- We did all the rides we wanted to. We did everything the boys wanted to go on sometimes twice. Did we go on every ride? Nope. But the ones we missed don't break our hearts.
- We were told to bring lots of snacks. But really we brought too much and lots came home with us.
- On the way home there was a security breach at the airport. The entire airport at John Wayne shut down for 25 minutes. Thankfully we had just made it through security so we could sit and wait for the all clear. Don't know what happened but it made for a memorable trip!

What a fun trip! We're contemplating Disney World as part of our family reunion, but are unsure if we're up to the long lines and complaining children (or adults).
